Motivation!!
Motivation!!
Hello, reader’s today’s article is all about motivation, Physiology, what is motivation? And how to get yourself motivated.
Let’s begin!!
Starting with the definition- for students (the bookish language)
B.F. Skinner – Mr. Skinner stated "Motivation in school learning involves arousing, persisting, sustaining and directing desirable behavior."
George R. Terry- Mr. George stated “Motivation is a desire within an individual that stimulates his or her actions."
Woodworth - Mr. Woodworth stated "Motivation is the state of the individual which disposes him to certain behavior for seeking goal."
I can go on and on but I think this is enough!!
Let’s dive into the physiology of being motivated.
Have you heard or you have been saying "I don't feel motivated enough of writing that assignment"
"You know how lazy I am" or "yaar meri neend hi nai khuli, maine assingment hi nai kiya"
There is one main aspect to this, the physiology!! The physical aspect of you and me, which is based on the energy levels, there are different people with different energy levels and these energy levels depend on the food they intake, the amount of water, sleep and exercise.
Now if I am dieting, and eating only salads the whole day will I have the energy to work as a farmer ploughing fields and doing field work?
The same way if I am a person having heavy food and doing a desk job, what would happen? - Lethargy, lack of motivation and lots of sleep or sleeplessness.
Before going to the psychological part of motivation we as professionals, students or people who face lack of motivation need to figure out what we are doing with the physical self!!
The energy levels we build have an exceptional impact on our levels of motivation. As we discussed the base of building energies lies in the physical aspect of you and me which depend on the food we intake, the amount of water, sleep and exercise.
As the phrase goes “All work no play makes Jack a dull boy”, the same way only work no exercise can make you demotivated!!
The best and natural way of keeping your energy levels high or to the point to increase motivational levels is regular physical exercise.
Exercising can increase the level of productivity in any human.
Now, what is motivation?
A goal oriented behaviour which is persistent, which is satisfying, rewarding and pushes you to achieve the goal. Or a reason for doing something.
Look at this beauty, do you think she has a problem of demotivation!! Sorry for strolling away, but she is motivated enough for her daily chores! now coming back to the topic!!
How to get motivated?
Step 1 – Understanding your energy levels, where exactly do you lie, if you are having a poor level of physical energy, note it down!! Rule out your physical issues like thyroid, lack of physical activity, depression, lack of sleep, poor intake of food.
If it’s exercise – create a weekly plan for exercise to build up your drive to be productive and maintaining a healthy exercise routine
